Having been here twice for family birthdays this place never faults to impress. The lovely decor and charm of the historic building with new up to date touches. The bar area was great as a drink reception. The venue would work great for small events. The service from the staff is exceptional, nothing is too much trouble and very polite. The menu is well balanced and well priced. Food is fanatic, generous portion sizes and good selection. Great bar with premium products on offer and a great Gin selection. A solid 5 stars.

I went to the thatch for a Christmas dinner with my Camera club so there was 30 of us in total on 2 tables, the thatch was very warm and inviting on arrival with a nice atmosphere. We were served quickly at the bar and soon shown to our tables which were set very nicely and spotlessly clean tableware and linen. The meal was served in good time with plenty of staff on hand so no one was left waiting as can sometimes happens with large groups but the service was excellent and the staff very helpful and polite, the food was of a very good standard and portions were generous and was served piping hot. Tables were cleared quickly between courses and no one had to hurry to finish and coffee and mince pies to finish of a lovely evening. I will definitely return to the thatch for the service and ambiance are second to none. 5*****.
What a lovely place. The surroundings were beautiful. The food was great. The staff were excellent coping very well with our party of varying ages from 5 to 70+ along with their other customers. The evening went very well.
